so last night at work i doodled a little thing of the bride of frankenstein because a girl i know asked me to do a little portrait of her, and i left it by the register where this woman i work with named juliet saw it and was all impressed and then
asked me to draw her.
i was almost gonna say "i'm already thinking of doing that with you guys!" but i didn't haaaaa
but its like i have an excuse now.
also: paid days off are awesome. |

so, for whatever reason i assumed a bunch of the people i work with, including the previously mentioned and ever so lovely taras, were polish.
turns out, they're russian!
my ancestors are spinnin' in their graves.
really should've known better because they all have very russian names. taras, oksana, halyna, marina, irina...
anyway

i just realized i never posted the "standard" design before. oh well, it needed fixing anyway. that's probably why i didn't post it. this one however came out perfect.

so remember i mentioned a 2 month goal to do 10 pages of nine lives a while back? i decided once i finish coloring all the old pages (shouldn't take too long) and any commissions i have lying around, the 2 month timer starts.
i'll let you know when that is.
so yeah i've been coloring old pages, i have about 14.5 left. they really don't take too long but some of them are hard to figure out because i wasn't drawing them with the intention of coloring in mind, so the backgrounds are really um, ambiguous i guess. kind of annoying. also, i can't believe i thought i was good at drawing back then... but no way am i redrawing any pages. |

i've set a personal goal to do 10 pages of nine lives sometime within the next two months. i'm going to do it assembly line style. thumbnails first, then rough drafts, then final drafts, then color.

i've always had this stigma about drawing myself with people, specifically love interests. part of me is like "what if i draw us together all happy n shit and then a month later we break up" etc etc
then i'm stuck with a drawing i probably like but i can't look at.
ah well i might do it anyway cuz i really love my tiny boyfriend. |

haaaa my friend gave me this last night
who thinks it's legit?
if so then zach and i sign our last names similarly; we both give up after the first few letters.
(btw that movie is surprisingly good and it's all because of that hairy beast up there)
other than that i saw 500 days of summer and guess what guys? it was really really really cute. all the trendy hipster type stuff was pretty easy to ignore because it wasn't laid on thick juno style. it was nice n subtle. and everyone in that movie is so freakin' well dressed.
next i want to see adam. ohh that one looks adorable. i do enjoy a love story where the male character is the awkward and vulnerable one.
other movies i need to see:

other than that, i did a weird little drawing for a friend of a friend. supposed to go with a short story that i haven't even read, i just drew what they asked me to. it's going in a zine of some sort.

the dead squirrel is for my boyfriend's site. it's his mascot. i guess. here's the site, which is having some problems lately
the computer one is a logo for pc pros, a business my brother's friend is startin. i forgot to draw a trackpad on the thing so it's a really useless laptop with not enough keys, but i figure at least it gets the message across right? ..right?

always liked him but after seeing the hangover about a weekish ago i've just realized how much of a genius he is, he's honestly a huge inspiration to me right now
