2 month goal

so remember i mentioned a 2 month goal to do 10 pages of nine lives a while back? i decided once i finish coloring all the old pages (shouldn't take too long) and any commissions i have lying around, the 2 month timer starts.

i'll let you know when that is.

so yeah i've been coloring old pages, i have about 14.5 left. they really don't take too long but some of them are hard to figure out because i wasn't drawing them with the intention of coloring in mind, so the backgrounds are really um, ambiguous i guess. kind of annoying. also, i can't believe i thought i was good at drawing back then... but no way am i redrawing any pages.

i've set a personal goal to do 10 pages of nine lives sometime within the next two months. i'm going to do it assembly line style. thumbnails first, then rough drafts, then final drafts, then color.

then i'm stuck with a drawing i probably like but i can't look at.

haaaa my friend gave me this last night

if so then zach and i sign our last names similarly; we both give up after the first few letters.

(btw that movie is surprisingly good and it's all because of that hairy beast up there)

other than that i saw 500 days of summer and guess what guys? it was really really really cute. all the trendy hipster type stuff was pretty easy to ignore because it wasn't laid on thick juno style. it was nice n subtle. and everyone in that movie is so freakin' well dressed.

next i want to see adam. ohh that one looks adorable. i do enjoy a love story where the male character is the awkward and vulnerable one.

the dead squirrel is for my boyfriend's site. it's his mascot. i guess. here's the site, which is having some problems lately

the computer one is a logo for pc pros, a business my brother's friend is startin. i forgot to draw a trackpad on the thing so it's a really useless laptop with not enough keys, but i figure at least it gets the message across right? ..right?

not much to post. just some silly photos. i went and saw dr. dog for free the other night. it was wet but the rain stopped when the band came out.

first time i've taken a photo of a band on stage without it being blurry. i love using my digital camera in manual mode.

a girl at this board i go to started this "photo adventure" thing where each week there's a new theme so i've just been kinda messin with it, this week's was 3 views and here's my totally original idea

a previous week was silhouettes so lulz cat photo!

i also posted some photos on my website. i'm prob going to update it again soon as i just finished two rolls of filmmmm gotta take them in to get processed

they got fed up with me being honest and decided to just flat out give me a refund. i said well i didn't ask for a refund, ever. i just want a shirt that fits, so i'll send one in for an exchange.

"since we have refunded you, you cannot exchange the shirt."

oh, great. now i'm stuck with two defective shirts that don't fit. thanks a lot.

ah well. it's funny actually, because they refunded me much more than what i paid for it. karma.

now time to go work on commissions.

threadless are being assholes to me now.
the girl that's been dealing with me was really nice and measured a tee for me to fit the size charts' size small measurements. great! i'm getting the right tee for sure! WRONG. they never sent it. so i sent another email asking if they want me to send one of my defective shirts back in exchange for the one she measured for me.

they tell me that i have one tee that's the wrong size and one that was measured for me.

i'm sorry what? it was never sent to me, there's been a mistake. i can send in one of my wrong shirts in exchange for the one that was measured for me if that's what i should do.

"you have two tees correct? one is the wrong size, and one was measured specifically for you by carlie"

um NO. you're not listening. i have two shirts that are the same WRONG size. in fact, they are both considered DEFECTIVE by you guys. so basically i have been sent three defective shirts now. i just want the one that was measured for me. this is ridiculous and should not be happening.

now, since i got angry, they handed it off to someone else

"you have two tees. one is the wrong size, and one was measured specifically for you. if you're still unsatisfied, you can send it in for an exchange or a refund. have a great day!"

so this time i have photo evidence for them.

according to their size charts, girl's size mediums measure 16.75" across. smalls measure 15.75" across. the two tees i have are 16.75" across but are labeled as smalls, which is what i ordered.

ah crap before i could send it they replied with a ups tracking number and stuff. but guess what? it's from the april 8th delivery, which was one of the wrong sized shirts i received. then april 9th i contacted customer service again explaining what happened... again... and that was when they told me they specifically measured one for me. nothing was sent to me after april 8th. WHAT NOW THREADLESS, WHAT NOW. tellin me you measured it april 9th, but didn't send anything to me after april 8th, wuh oh!

really i just needed to vent about this and lj seemed the perfect place.

i have been looking for a good pair of cute, simple, classic, flat loafers and i finally found some <3 and these have a thick rubber sole so i think they will last a long time! i was trying these on with skirts and tights last night and i felt so good and girlyyy

sketches and doodles soon i promise. i have a couple paying commissions to work on today and tomorrow. ahhh days off...

oh you guys something weird has been happening to me. threadless had a $5 sale a little while ago so i got a couple shirts, but one of them was obviously not the right size the tag advertised. i always order girly smalls but this one fit like a medium or something. i sent it back, they were really nice, said they found it defective and sent me a new one with free shipping, even refunded what i paid to ship the first shirt back, and gave me a $5 coupon to use in the future. but then the shirt i got back was STILL the wrong size! they're still being awesome and nice but it's just so weird. i measured and took pics for them because i'm honestly worried they have messed up a whole batch of shirts!

look at the difference! on top is an actual girly small, the blue one is the one that's been defective twice now.

so weird! this is the first time something like this has happened to me with threadless. fortunately they have amazing customer service (: hopefully they have this shirt in the actual size i ordered. but who knows maybe they will reprint them all? it's a really cute shirt with this old style cartoony octopus guy on it. i hope hope hope they have it.

by the way guys, new mirah album is lovely lovely.
